| 目、耳、手足の不自由な人（障害者）、また、年をとった人（高齢者）がパソコン、電話、ファックス、現金自動預け入れ払い機など（情報通信機器）を自由に使えるようにするために、障害者や高齢者がどのように感じて、ものごとを理解し、体を使い、行動しているか、という問題について基礎的な研究を行い、情報福祉の基礎を固めます。その際、使いやすい機器を念頭に置いて、様々な障害者や高齢者についてデータを集め、解析します。65歳以上の人が日本の人口全体に占める割合は20%弱、身体障害者手帳を持つ人は約325万人で、その多くは情報通信機器を使うことが困難です。漢字を使うことなど欧米とは異なることも多く、日本人を対象とする研究が必要になります。 |  |
| We will perform the fundamental research on barrier-free use of the electronic communicational devices as the computer, the telephone, the fax or the ATM by those visibly, hearing or physically handicapped persons or the aged, and the research on how they feel, what they think, how they act and how they behave to the equipments. We will gather and analyze the data considering the easy-operating machines for them. The population of the persons over 65 years old is 20% or less and that of the registered handicapped is about 3.25 million in Japan. Most of them have some problems in using the informational communication devices. We have many different cultures as Chinese characters. It is strongly needed to research on them specifically focused on Japanese. | |
